GREAT Idea

As an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity to work on a project that combined my passion for engineering with my commitment to social impact. I was involved in a groundbreaking initiative focused on developing appropriate technology solutions for communities in need. Our team worked closely with local partners to design and implement sustainable technologies that were both affordable and accessible. This experience was a turning point for me, as it underscored the importance of engineering with empathy and highlighted the profound impact that thoughtful, community-centered solutions can have on improving lives. It also fueled my desire to continue working at the intersection of technology and social good, a passion that still drives me today during my career with FEMA.

The results of the study were published in the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) website, where I appear as co-author. The paper can be found at: β€œOn Integrating Appropriate Technology Responsive to Community Capabilities: A Case Study from Haiti”, (https://www.asee.org/public/conferences/8/papers/5106/view) – Co-author.
